I was shocked and devastated about the recent earthquake, tsunami and nuclear plant explosion that hit Japan. In the midst of all these tragedies, here's some snippets (you need to log onto facebook to read them) of what moved them and me posted on Twitters which was shared by a fellow friend of mine who is living in Japan at the moment.
If for some reason you can't read them, here's a tweet that really touches my heart.
Yesterday, I was impressed and touched by the actions of my neighbor’s 13-year-old-boy. He was home alone when the earthquake hit. But instead of hiding, as soon as the earthquake quieted down, he jumped on his bicycle and road around the block repeatedly shouting at the top of his voice, “Is everyone alright? Is everyone okay?” At the time, there were only women and children and the elderly in the homes. I cannot describe how comforting it was just to hear a strong voice asking if I was okay. Thank you!
I love this picture, it's concept, and all it stands for! The balloons just make me remember all who were hurt and all who stand behind them, even over a year after the disaster. Thanks for this!
There is a project folder you can put this into. The category is "Community Projects/Awareness/2011/Natural Disasters ~ the folder holds many tributes for the disasters that have affected the world this year.
I pray for Japan and their people! Even though Anime is good and all, I care about the people more.
